Give a Presentation or Ace a Date: Mid-Cycle

It can be nerve-racking as hell to speak in front of a roomful of coworkers or go on a date with a cutie you've been crushing on, but studies show there's a certain time of the month when it feels way easier. According to research, many women get an added energy boost before they ovulate thanks to a surge of hormones, which not only makes you peppier but can actually boost your self-esteem.
Here's how it works: When you feel energetic, you're more likely to exercise in some capacity, even if it's
minor, like walking to your coworker's office to chat instead of e-mailing. When you exercise, your body releases the mood-boosting hormone oxytocin, which makes you feel better about yourself, Phillips says. And a new study by the University of Florida found that people feel more confident about themselves after exercising just a tiny amount — meaning you could do 20 minutes of yoga or just run up a few sets of stairs and still kick ass.
